The Best Day of the Year

This afternoon was spent uncovering the side garden. While hours of work remain to clean out the rest of the gardens, after a long winter spent inside, it felt delicious to kneel and get dirt in the fingernails again.

Knowing that piles of snow could still be found on the other sides of the house made the gardening even sweeter.

The first day in the garden is always the best day of the year.

The Greenwich winter comes a month too early and leaves a month too late. It was especially harsh this year. I’m glad that spring seems to have finally sprung.
